The whole east coast seems to be shutting down which means we all have a little extra time to devote to pervy pastimes! Since there’s no way to not go to work when your office is ten feet from your bedroom, I thought I’d share a few of the movies on my must watch list that I think are the perfect way to pass a winter’s day.
If I was snowed in today with no way to carry out my porno job responsibilities there’s one movie that, without a doubt, I would be spending my time with – River Rock Women’s Prison. This new movie from has been on my radar since last year when the lovely ladies at Triangle Films told me a little about the feature they were shooting. Now that it’s in house, I am out of my mind trying to find two hours to truly devote to it. To make matters even worse, JD was watching it yesterday and bragging about how freaking good it is. Imagine hot ladies, prison sex and (from what JD says) good acting in a porno! Sadly, I’m probably not going to have time for this until I get my stupid house on the market, but after that we’re treating ourselves to a night in with Syd Blakovich, Melissa Monet, Jada Fire and the rest of the smokin’ hot women of River Rock.
I love the classics and I’ve been meaning to watch this tale of two sexy succubi sent from hell to corrupt the girls of a sorority house which happens to stand where their brothel stood 100 years before. If that doesn’t sound super awesome to you, I suppose I should let you know that one of them is played by the amazing Seka!! Heavenly Desires came out in 1979 and Seka was definitely in her prime, so I can’t wait until I have a chance to see her in action. I mean, tell me this doesn’t sound awesome:

So I’ve been dying to see this incredibly cheesy, hopefully ultra-good movie since I saw a preview for it at the end of another classic film. Now I’m finally ready for the love that only a super sexed alien from outer space can bring to the otherwise doomed human race! It’s time for “Ultra Flesh!”
Hehe, you can always tell how old a classic is by the dates they set as the distant ‘future’ this one is set in the early 1990’s. There’s a horrible crisis striking the world, all the men everywhere are impotent and the world is starting to feel the effects. I have to say I love the thought of a planet wide limp streak. At first they think the problem is sugar and cut off all sugar imports, but the president of that country swears his men aren’t impotent so the President of the US (who’s got a fake southern accent that reminds me oh so much of George W.) flies off to check on their virility himself – no, this isn’t a gay title.

I’m still bitter enough about W to get excited when I see a movie called “Fuck Bush.” I probably need to move on or whatever, but at least I have a deserving target for my rage! This VCX collection doesn’t have anything to do with government, but does capture some of the biggest stars of the golden age of porn, including Kay Parker and Dorothy LeMay, in all of their hairy glory!
I have to talk about scene eight, from the classic flick Sex World, because it starts off with the best porno music I’ve ever heard in my entire life. And that’s before Kay Parker enters and announces her need for a “huge, gorgeous cock.” Of course, her wish is some lucky dude’s command and he’d better have big balls if he hopes to satisfy Parker! In this classic film loop, we get to see one of the porn’s first real superstars in action. If you’re unfamiliar with Seka, the Platinum Princess, you’re in for a real treat! This clip is only about six minutes long, but it manages to have a better plot than most porn created today.
Of course, this is porn, so the plot is one of the old standards. Seka’s in need of a handyman and directs him to her bedroom where he makes every attempt to fix her phone while she takes a six second bath. This compilation is a great example of why I love Seka! Back in the day there was no bigger star than the Platinum Princess, whose beauty and appetite for sex are legendary. Swedish Erotica 78 has compiled scenes from classic films that are really hard to find like Summer Heat and Seka’s Tale, which makes this girl very happy because I’ll watch any Seka scene I can find.
The clip from Piece of Cake (scene five) is great as Seka teaches a young stewardess how to pick up men – talk about learning from the master! I don’t want to divulge her secrets, but one of them does include roller skates. At 28, I’m not “old” by any standards – except the standards set by the porn industry. Twenty eight is full on MILF territory, even though I don’t have any children. I started working in sex when I was 21 and all the models were essentially my peers, but as I’ve hung around the biz over the years and gotten older, porn performers suddenly seem freakishly young to me.
It’s possible that I’m getting conservative in my old age, but these days I find myself attracted to women and men who are in my peer age group or older. I mean, it’s true that I’m also something of a chubby chaser but I like the fuller shapes that come with age, and while I’m not lusty over granny porn (yet?), I appreciate the mature look. Maybe I was naive when I was younger, but despite knowing that sexuality is fluid and can change over time blah blah blah, I didn’t necessarily think about how age factors into that equation.
Though I’m well aware of the dangers of extending my personal tastes into the realm of thinking how others should conduct their business, I’ve become ever more acutely aware of the fact that most people who watch porn probably aren’t in the same peer age group as the performers. This is, incidentally, not dissimilar from the fact that most people who watch television shows like Gossip Girl aren’t in that peer group either – so its not exactly a revelation.
But still, I think about who I was at 18 and at 21, and I do sometimes feel weird about those young women making the porno. Its purely subjective, but I definitely didn’t know jack shit about sexuality when I was that age: I hadn’t yet perfected the Art of No, nor had I gained knowledge of my limits. Adults of all ages are both capable and incapable of making good choices for themselves, so it’s tough to actually enforce the Ready For Porn Age. The government says its 18. This is something that comes up from time to time within the porn industry, and I know of some directors and companies who have informal or sometimes formal policies about the age of their performers. Oren Cohen at TightFit Productions stepped up a few years ago and publicly stated that he wouldn’t work with women under 21 because he didn’t think they would be fully ready for the intense, SM-inspired shoots he does.
But although the debate about porn and age will undoubtedly rage on, and while Barely Legal as a brand and a wank-inspiring concept continues to be a huge share of the porno market, it wasn’t always like this. Not by a long shot. The sadly defunct but still online Eros Zine has a great interview that Joanne Cachapero did with porn legend Seka last December, in which she talks about how the age and attitudes of performers has changed:
I have girls come up to me that are like 19, 20 years old, and they say, ‘I want to be like you when I grow up…’ And I say, ‘Do you have a college education? Do you have a savings account? Do you have a plan?’
‘Well, no…’
Then I’m like, ‘Go back to school.’
They think I’m out of my mind. But I was like 25, 26 years old before I started. I didn’t just step off the bus. I owned seven adult bookstores before I even got into the performing side of the business.
However, I don’t mean to use my opinion and Seka’s opinions to shame young people about their porny decisions nor to shame older people who like getting off while looking at younger bodies. To this end I asked Trixie Fontaine, a mid-thirties indie webwhore who runs a personal porn site called Tasty Trixie, about how her attractions to younger porn performers have changed over the years, and her answer completely contradicts my feeling on the subject. For Trixie, the attraction to younger models have gotten stronger as she’s gotten older. She had this to say:
I’m not sure if it’s my age and distance from my own youth or being a pornographer whose job it is to see things from the perspective of dirty old men (or just naturally being a dirty old wo-man myself OR it just being natural in GENERAL to think ripe, young women are hot, beautiful to look at, and slightly taboo to jack to). The older I get, the guiltier I feel about it . . . and the hotter it all is. While I’m critical of the way women, especially young women, are portrayed in porn, it doesn’t quash my arousal upon seeing a big cock stuffed in a small-breasted, wide-eyed teen’s mouth.
There’s no one perfect and healthy way to think about it – I mean, its sex and sex is messy and complicated – but the category “adult” really kind of white washes the whole issue. Though clearly the Cult of the Hot Young Thang is strong and influential in the porn biz today, porn certainly allows for more body and age diversity than mainstream media. Even if that diversity gets quickly turned into a fetish, its still worth something.

Hands down, Seka is one of my all-time favorite stars. Also known as the aptly named “Platinum Princess”, she has a natural beauty and looks like she’s having a great time when she performs. My personal favorite were the scarves she and other women wore around their necks in the classic Swedish Erotica series – and then I heard in an interview that she hated the scarves. (But I still love them!)
Seka began performing in 1978 at the time when adult movies were beginning to be shot on video instead of 35mm film. The timing of easier distribution with VHS, mixed with her gorgeous looks and sexual appetite, caused Seka’s popularity to rise to the top and live on today. Although she stopped performing in 1982 for a variety of reasons including divorce, drugs, and money, she began performing again in the late 80s, one movie being Careful He May Be Watching, which she also co-directed. Despite her past troubles, Seka is still known for professionalism and business savviness; since the early 80s she’s worked on her growing fanclub and launched her own website in the early 2000s which she runs herself, Seka.com. In 2002, a documentary film was produced about her, “Desperately Seeking Seka”.
I thought that I couldn’t be more in love with the platinum blonde classic star, but I was wrong… after this interview I just fell a little deeper.

One of the great things about the AVN awards is that every year they highlight some great movies in the Best Classic DVD category that I haven’t watched. I love me some classic porn, so when I saw Careful He May Be Watching was nominated this year, I knew I’d be reviewing it. This film features one of my favorite classic porn stars, the platinum princess of porn, Seka! I love the basic premise for this one; Seka is a devoted housewive during the day and a raunchy porn star by night. In fact, it seems awfully familiar for a woman who peddles smut by day and hosts dinner parties for Ivy League docs by night…Anyways, it’s pretty obvious why this movie was nominated this year. It features two of the era’s biggest stars, Seka and Kay Parker and it chock full of smokin’ sex scenes. This is a film that you will want to watch in its entirety.
