Ever since I first heard of this movie (god knows how long ago that was), I’ve been dying to watch it. I mean really, how many porn movies have changed the entire industry and the way that the mainstream looks at porn in general? Not many. This 1972 Mitchell Brothers classic is a part of history. Even my mom has seen it – which means that it’s definitely a part of pop culture as much as a nudie movie. As well, whenever we do a 20 questions interview with a porn star, we ask their favorite adult movie and more often than not, it’s Behind the Green Door.
Though I had a vague idea of the plot before I started watching, I really wasn’t too sure what to expect. The basic gist of the movie is that a trucker is telling his friends a story of this woman, whom he had been flirting with earlier that day, being abducted and becoming the star attraction at an exclusive sex club – one that the guy coincidently ends up attending later in the evening. This woman (played by Marilyn Chambers) is pretty much fucked every which way but up, on stage, in front of an audience that becomes an orgy as the performance progresses. Today the HotMovies.com family made history by bringing one of the most legendary adult films ever made to the video-on-demand screen – Behind The Green Door.
Starring the recently deceased Marilyn Chambers, the 1972 Mitchell Brothers’ release instantly brought the world of adult into the limelight and created a whole new set of production standards for porn movies to come. Basically, Behind the Green Door was the catalyst for the porn industry as we know it.
Along with all it did for the adult industry, the mainstream loved it as well. Behind the Green Door was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, received positive critical reviews in the national media and was the second movie to be inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) Hall of Fame.

An autopsy has revealed that porn legend Marilyn Chambers, who was found dead in her trailer home last month at age 57, had died of natural causes (an aneurysm, to be specific).
The notable 1970s star made her way to the adult screen in 1972, with Behind the Green Door, one of the most famous porn movies of it’s time. Before getting dirty, Chambers was the queen of clean, with her picture gracing the side of the Ivory Snow soap box, which ended up causing quite the controversy when her pure image went porno. And we can’t forget the mention her political bid as the Person Choice Party’s candidate for the 2004 presidental election! As we said when we found out about her passing – Marilyn Chambers will be missed.

While most sex and porno news is pretty fun, unfortunately it’s not always the case. Sometimes it’s downright sad.
Porn legend Marilyn Chambers was found dead yesterday at age 57 for reasons yet to be known. One of the most notable stars of the 1970s, Chambers was touted as the first porn ladies to shave her pubic hair, which we all know is pretty much the standard these days. Chambers started as the face on the Ivory Snow soap box and made her foray into adult in 1972’s Behind The Green Door, one of the most famous pornos of it’s time. And to round out her career, she also ran for President of the United States in 2004, on the Personal Choice Party ticket! Gotta love a resume that includes poster child for being pure, porno queen and presidential candidate. Love it! Marilyn Chambers will be missed.

If you ever giggled through a movie on Skin-emax as a teen, you’re probably familiar with Marilyn Chambers. A woman who’s been in the biz longer than I’ve been alive, and who is also credited as being the first female porn star to shave off her pubic hair. I wonder if she had any idea what the consequences of that seemingly small action would be on the adult industry! A woman who’s been relevant for so long, obviously has a thing or two to teach the masses and does just that in this instructional video. First things first, let’s clear up one thing: Masturbation will not make you blind. I was incredibly relieved to find this out from Ms. Chambers, although now I have to blame my failing vision on something else. All joking aside, this is a really informative video. One thing I really appreciate is that Chambers doesn’t assume anything. She providers the viewer with a ton a great info on lube, sex toys, g-spot stimulation, and anal play, just to mention a few. Honestly, when it comes to your own pleasure, can you really ever have too much information?
