Today is a super exciting day! The 2010 Feminist Porn Award nominees have been announced!! So many of our favorite flicks from the last year are on the list and we really couldn’t be more proud of our lady porn community.
Showcasing the best of the best in porn made for and by forward-thinking feminist folks of all genders (though the movies have to have a woman’s hand in the production, writing, directing, etc.), the Feminist Porn Awards are the do all and say all when it comes to porn created specifically with women in mind.

If there is one person I would intrinsically trust to truly portray the closely woven ties between art and sex, it would most definitely be Madison Young. Not only does this fiery redhead run her own art gallery in San Francisco, Young brings an overtly artful quality to every porno movie she’s made. But unlike other directors, Madison Young doesn’t try to create avant garde experiences that do more to confuse and shock than actually titillate, she directs scenes that are naturally artistic. It’s just the way she rolls. And this movie takes the cake.
More documentary than dirty movie, Thin Line Between Art and Sex breaks down the bonds between art and sex so we can examine the fibers that connect them. A handful of artists from different concentrations and mediums come on one at a time and discuss their work. The group includes writing, film making, dancing, and more, stretching art in many different ways. After the chat, each artist gets naked and gets busy one on one. And that’s where it all changed for me.
I’ll be the first to admit that when I hear art and sex (or porn) in the same sentence, I usually expect some melodramatic art house piece that happens to have naked people fucking. While it can be interesting, I usually get bored by it pretty fast. But this movie was nothing like that. Because each person talked about their experiences in a very personal way, each of their sex scenes actually came off expressing an extension of their craft. It wasn’t about creating an artful movie, it was about exposing the innate artful qualities of sex. So hot. Leave it to Madison Young to once again offer up a sexy think piece that gets our brains just as excited as our junk.
Obviously I had the total hots for Jiz Lee, both during their interview and the super hot kitchen fuck fest after, but I think my favorite pair of the movie was Naga and Carl Hungus in the last scene. The DYI mentality of their art was a major turn on to me, and once they started fucking I was completely sold. I couldn’t tell you why I found it so sexy, but I definitely did. And not to spoil the ending, I was surprisingly turned on when Carl cums in Naga’s butt. I mean, sure I’ve seen men cum inside women before, but rarely in porn… and rarely do I care about it. There was something about the pair that blew my mind and made that act really freaking hot. What can I say, I love a good orgasm!
If you are looking for something smart, sexy and sure to have you thinking about it the next day, this movie is totally for you.
Sitting in a corner booth at the 24 hours buffet, Jiz Lee and I are exhausted. She is slowly munching on shrimp while I sip my miso soup and we cover the details of the last few months. Its so pleasant to catch up and in amidst the jawing we express our enthusiasm for what promises to be an outstanding 72 hours. Ah Shakespeare’s memorable line “something wicked this way comes” still brings back fond memories of stages long gone, as well as making me snicker just a little bit. I’ve always thought that particular line was just asking for X-rated trouble and apparently the ladies at HeartCore Films agree with me and created the soon to be porny classic “The Curse of Macbeth.” Other than their already obvious good taste (I mean come on what’s more tasteful than Shakespeare themed porn?) I have absolutely no idea what to expect from Heartcore Films but since they’ve had the good sense to put Madison Young in a prominent role I’m not in the least bit worried.
Wait – not that I’m going to turn my nose up at extra hot women but they start off with way more than three witches! And that’s as much protest as I can manage as they pull out their cute tattooed male sacrifice. He’s supposed to be Macbeth I think but I don’t think he cares too much about being king later when he’s surrounded by hot women touching and torturing him by turns. Orgies are usually a last scene staple in porn, for this movie to start out with one, which features some serious S/M qualities to boot, sets the bar really high for the following scenes.
I may not always understand the plots or even have any idea what’s going on, but I know whenever we get a new April Flores movie in, I will watch it. Sure April is amazing (which I’ll get to in a minute), but it’s the mix between her and the imaginative and vivid worlds that Carlos Batts – her husband – creates as a backdrops to his skillfully directed hot and heavy solo scenes and hardcore XXX that have me returning for more. I might not always “get it,” but Batts always brings it, giving us elaborate plots and wild characters each and every time. If it’s strictly the old bedroom in and out you’re looking for, you’d better keep on clicking.
April Flores could be watching paint dry – but as long as the camera is pointed towards her, I would gladly sit by and take it all in. There is something about her stage presence and confidence that up the ante of her insane sexiness and makes her so much more than just a hot porn star. You can tell that she gets really into it and is having fun no matter what hotness rolls her way. April works her body and makes sure that you see every curve and every inch of her skin. This zaftig queen lets us know just how much she loves her body and exactly why we should too. And she is definitely a good saleswoman, because I am sold – hook, line and sinker.
While I thought it was totally strange and I have no idea why I liked it, scene three was my favorite of the movie. April gives Barbie the thrill of her life and takes her somewhere Ken could only dream about. Of course she is decapitated for the journey, but hey, you make sacrifices to fuck a beautiful lady. And fuck her Barbie does! First with her feet and legs, then rubs all over April’s clit as April rams a giant blue dick into herself. Maybe I think it’s a commentary on something… or maybe it’s just hot – like I said, I don’t know why I liked it, but I do know this: Ken is gonna be pissed.
We just added Frisk Me, the first movie from Good Releasing’s HeartCore Films to the site, and I can’t wait to sit down and watch this one from start to finish this weekend. Yeah, that’s right, I’m watching this one off the clock!
I mean, with Satine Phoenix, Syd Blakovich and Tyler Knight all getting down and dirty, I can’t imagine this will be anything but amazing. I’m a huge fan of Madison Young, who takes on Tyler’s Knight-stick in the final scene, and I really love what she gets out of her performers as a director.
