Ok, I’ll just say this one last thing, then I promise to shut up about the California gay marriage legalization.  For a little while, at least.

Lifehacker’s editor Gia Trapani just got hitched to her longtime partner Terra.  The Gawker Media (also parent of my obession Jezebel, where I read this, of course) writer just about perfectly sums up my reasons for being pro-marriage.  It’s poignant and super cute, but still just tells it like it is. 

“For the record,” typed Trapani, “I *know* that marriage is a lame institution rooted in religion (I’m an atheist) and patriarchy. BUT, my parents had a great marriage—I watched my Dad come home from work and kiss my Mom hello every evening 34 years into it, genuinely happy to see her—and I wanted that same thing with Terra. (And that’s IT—as mushy as I’m getting! Shutting up now!)” (via radar)
